When and how to use it

Once the first pass has opened the skin, apply a thick, even layer of gel to the treatment area, cover with occlusive wrap, and leave in place for 20–60 minutes, per the product's labeled directions. Do not use more than once every 24 hours. This is a single, defined application — not an on-demand touch-up — so build the timing into your session plan rather than reapplying as sensation returns.

Why secondary anesthetics are a separate category

The distinction between primary and secondary anesthetics is about the skin condition each is intended for, not just marketing terminology. A primary cream is applied to intact skin before the first pass. A secondary gel is applied once the skin barrier has already been opened.
