Gauze

Sterile gauze pads are a procedure-table essential in PMU. Used throughout the session for blotting excess pigment, absorbing lymph weepage, removing numbing cream, and light surface cleanup between passes, gauze is the workhorse consumable that keeps the working area clean and the procedure controlled.

  • Sterile — maintains sterility until opened for use
  • Highly absorbent — blots lymph and pigment cleanly without spreading
  • Lint-minimal gauze weave — leaves less fiber on treated skin than tissue or paper towel
  • Multi-use per session — employed at multiple stages of a PMU procedure

In PMU, surface cleanliness during the procedure directly affects how well pigment implants. Excess lymph weepage on the skin surface creates a film that acts as a barrier between the needle and the dermis — blotting regularly keeps the needle path clear and the color deposit consistent. Gauze, not tissue, is the correct choice because the weave structure absorbs fluid without leaving paper fibers on an open skin surface.

Hygiene: Use each gauze pad once and discard. Never double-dip a pad back into a pigment cup or numbing product after it has contacted client skin.

Who this is for: All PMU artists — gauze is a non-negotiable procedural consumable for brow, lip, and eyeliner permanent makeup sessions.
