Pro technique

How to get the best result

  1. Decide line or shade before you start

A 5RL can lay a dense line or a pixel fill. Know which you are doing — the angle and speed differ — before the needle touches skin.

  2. Flatten the angle slightly versus a 3RL

Five needles seat better at a marginally flatter angle than a single-stroke liner. Too upright and the outer needles drag.

  3. Even, firm three-point stretch

All five needles must enter at the same depth. Uneven stretch leaves a patchy, half-saturated line.

  4. Build density in layers

Do not force saturation in one heavy pass. Two light passes heal cleaner and darker than one aggressive one.

  5. Wipe along the work, never across

Wiping across a fresh five-needle line lifts pigment unevenly and leaves gaps once it heals.

FAQ

Questions artists ask us

What does 1005RL mean?
It is the part code. 10 is the needle gauge on the nano scale (0.30 mm), 05 is the number of needles, and RL stands for Round Liner. So a 1005RL is a five-needle round liner at 0.30 mm.
What is the 1005RL used for?
Dense lines, pixel-style shading, lip blush bases and fast coverage. It carries more pigment than a 3RL, so it saturates quickly, but it is too wide for individual hairstrokes.
What is the difference between the 1005RL and the 1003RL?
Two needles and a job. The 1003RL is a three-needle hairstroke liner; the 1005RL adds two needles for density and coverage. Use the 1003RL for strokes, the 1005RL for solid lines and shading.
Can I use the 1005RL for powder brows?
Yes, for pixel shading and the first fill pass. For the softest ombre gradient most artists finish with a curved magnum like the 0805U or 0807U, which spread pigment more evenly than a round cluster.
Is the 1005RL good for lip blush?
It is a common lip blush base cartridge — five needles build colour efficiently over the lip body. Many artists then refine the border with a finer liner.
Does it fit machines other than the Elite PMU Machine?
It is sold and supported for the Elite PMU Machine. Check fitment with your machine's maker before using it in another device, as grip diameter and needle throw vary between systems.
How many cartridges will I use per treatment?
Usually one per client per session. Cartridges are single use and must never be reused or re-sterilised. A set of 10 covers roughly ten sessions.
Is it sterile, and how should I dispose of it?
Each cartridge is single use with a filtered back-flow membrane and arrives individually sealed. Discard it if the blister seal is damaged. Used cartridges go into an approved sharps container — in California, never into household waste.
