How to get the best result
- Keep the row flat to the skin
All five needles must contact together. A tilted flat shades with one corner and leaves streaks.
- Lead with the edge where you want structure
The flat's defined edge is its advantage — use it to keep a crisp front or a clean lip border.
- Even, overlapping passes
Sweep in parallel overlapping strokes so the band of colour blends without gaps or banding.
- Build in layers, not one heavy pass
Five needles at 0.35 mm move a lot of pigment. Layer light passes for an even heal.
- Soften pressure to fade
Ease off toward the areas you want diffuse so the structured shading blends out where it should.
