Why five fine needles

Five needles cover ground and build density faster than a hairstroke liner, and at 0.20 mm they do it softly. That combination suits microshading and pixel work — the controlled, dotted shading of a combo or powder brow — where a heavier five-needle cartridge would lay down too much pigment too fast. The round grouping keeps the deposit contained rather than spreading it like a magnum.

It is a shading and dense-line tool, not a hairstroke cartridge — five needles cannot draw a single hair. Use the fine liners (0603RL, 0601RL) for strokes and bring in the 0605RL when you want soft coverage.

Working with it

Keep the cluster flat so all five fine needles seat evenly, and work with a light hand — the fine gauge builds density in layers, not in one heavy pass. An even, firm stretch keeps the shading uniform. Wipe along the direction of your passes.

Hygiene and disposal

Every cartridge is a single-use, individually sealed unit with a filtered back-flow membrane that keeps pigment and fluid out of the machine grip. Check the seal before you open it; if the blister is compromised, discard it. Dispose of used cartridges in a sharps container in line with your state's requirements — in California that means an approved sharps waste container, never household waste.
