Pro technique

How to get the best result

  1. Map every stroke — the finest gauge is the least forgiving

Draw the whole brow and each hair on the skin before you open the cartridge. There is no heavy-handed correction at 0.16 mm.

  2. Shallow angle, never upright

At roughly 45 degrees the single needle draws a fine continuous hair; upright it stitches a dotted line.

  3. Very tight, even three-point stretch

At the finest gauge the needle skips the moment the skin goes slack. Keep it firmly anchored in three directions.

  4. Never press — let the needle lay the stroke

A 0.16 mm single needle carries the least pigment in the range. Patience gets the line in; pressure bruises delicate skin.

  5. Build density at the touch-up

On the finest gauge a fresh stroke looks soft. Perfect it at the follow-up rather than over-working fragile skin now.

FAQ

Questions artists ask us

What does 0401RL mean?
It is the part code. 04 is the needle gauge on the nano scale (0.16 mm), 01 is the number of needles, and RL stands for Round Liner. So a 0401RL is a single-needle round liner at 0.16 mm — the finest liner Elite makes.
What is the 0401RL best for?
The finest, softest single hairstrokes possible, and the most delicate or mature skin. At 0.16 mm on a single needle it lays the most natural, lowest-trauma stroke in the range.
What is the difference between the 0401RL and the 0403RL?
Needle count at the same finest 0.16 mm gauge. The 0401RL is a single needle for the finest individual strokes; the 0403RL groups three needles for a faster one-pass stroke on delicate skin.
Will a 0.16 mm single-needle stroke hold?
On delicate skin it is well matched and holds appropriately. On resilient skin the finest stroke may fade sooner and benefit from a touch-up, or you can step up to the 0601RL or three-needle 0403RL.
Is the 0401RL good for beginners?
It is the most demanding liner in the range — finest gauge, single needle, least pigment. Most artists reach for it once their single-needle technique is solid. Practise on synthetic skin first.
Does it fit machines other than the Elite PMU Machine?
It is sold and supported for the Elite PMU Machine. Confirm fitment with your machine's maker before using it elsewhere.
How many cartridges will I use per treatment?
Usually one per client per session — single use, never reused. A set of 20 covers roughly twenty sessions.
Is it sterile, and how should I dispose of it?
Each cartridge is single use with a filtered back-flow membrane and arrives individually sealed. Discard it if the seal is damaged. Used cartridges go into an approved sharps container — in California, never into household waste.
