Why a curved magnum

A magnum stacks its needles in a curved row rather than a flat line. The curve means the centre needles deposit the most pigment and the outer ones feather off, so every pass lays a soft-edged band that blends into the skin. That is the defining tool of ombre and powder brows — it is how you get colour that is saturated in the body and fades to nothing at the edges without visible banding.

At five needles it is the more controllable magnum, ideal for smaller brows, the front-to-tail transition, and lip blush. For wider coverage over a full brow body, step up to the seven-needle 0807U. For crisper, more structured shading, use a flat (0807F, 1205F) instead.

Working with it

The magnum is a blending tool, so work it in soft, sweeping, overlapping passes and let the curve do the feathering. Build colour in light layers — a magnum over-worked in one pass loses the gradient and heals blotchy. Keep an even stretch and vary your pressure to place saturation where you want it and let it fade where you do not.

Hygiene and disposal

Every cartridge is a single-use, individually sealed unit with a filtered back-flow membrane that keeps pigment and fluid out of the machine grip. Check the seal before you open it; if the blister is compromised, discard it. Dispose of used cartridges in a sharps container in line with your state's requirements — in California that means an approved sharps waste container, never household waste.
