The 0401RL is a single-needle round liner on the finest nano taper Elite makes — 0.16 mm. One 0.16 mm needle draws the thinnest, softest hairstroke in the entire range, which makes it the cartridge for the most delicate natural brows and for skin too fine or mature to take anything heavier.

Why the finest single needle

This is the finest stroke the range can produce: one needle, at the finest gauge, laying a single hair with nothing to widen or spread it. On thin, reactive or mature skin that is the safest way to place a hairstroke — the fine needle causes the least trauma and heals the most believable line.

The trade-off is presence and pace. A 0.16 mm single needle carries very little pigment, so it is the slowest liner to work with and often needs a touch-up to reach full density. That is expected on the finest gauge. For more pigment at the same fineness, use the three-needle 0403RL; for a bolder single stroke on resilient skin, use the 0601RL or 1201RL.

Where the 0401RL sits in the liner family

All Elite liners share the same body and membrane; count and gauge decide the job.

• 1RL by gauge — 0401RL (0.16 mm, finest), 0501RL (0.18 mm), 0601RL (0.20 mm), 1201RL (0.35 mm, boldest).
• 3RL (0403RL) — three needles at the same 0.16 mm gauge for faster one-pass strokes.

When one fine needle is too slow or too light, step to the three-needle 0403RL at the same gauge, or up to the 0601RL for a fraction more presence.

Working with it

The 0401RL is the most delicate and demanding liner in the range. Map every stroke, draw at a shallow angle, and keep the stretch very tight — at this gauge the needle skips the instant the skin loosens. Never press; let the needle lay the stroke and accept that density comes over passes and touch-ups, not force. Wipe along the stroke.

Hygiene and disposal

Every cartridge is a single-use, individually sealed unit with a filtered back-flow membrane that keeps pigment and fluid out of the machine grip. Check the seal before you open it; if the blister is compromised, discard it. Dispose of used cartridges in a sharps container in line with your state's requirements — in California that means an approved sharps waste container, never household waste.
