Where stencils fit in mapping

A stencil sets a shape fast, but precise permanent makeup still comes from measured mapping. Use the stencil to agree a shape with the client, then refine it to their face with a mapping string, a caliper and a golden ratio ruler, drawing the final outline with a mapping pencil.

Working with them

Position the stencil against the brow bone, check it sits level against your mapped centre line, and trace the outline. Because brows are rarely perfectly symmetrical, always verify both sides against fixed facial landmarks rather than trusting the stencil alone.
